I just found out this past week about ennisfootball.com and sure glad to find a way to keep in touch with my old high school football. I've known Brick for many years, and when we lived there he followed my two sons Todd and Kyle who are now playing together at Southwestern College in Winfield, Ks. Todd was on the 2000 all-state team. We moved to Lindale, Tx where he won all-state honors in both football and baseball. Kyle graduated this past May and was selected defensive player of the year. He was unanimously voted 1st team all-district. Proud to be a Lion backer.

Howdy folks! Congrats on your 4th championship. I was hoping we would meet in 03 but Highland Park got in yawl's way. Kilgore got in our way last year. Maybe 05 is the year. Wouldn't it be great to see these two storied schools battle each other for their 5th ring! Talk about a cat fight! Just a quick note to say hello. I am a Texas Tech grad who has been following Ennis now for a couple of years. Because Ennis uses a similar offense, it seemed possible that Graham Harrell might end up at Tech so I went to several games. Lo and behold, both he and AJ did end up at Tech which should be fun to watch. I intend to continue to follow Ennis both because there is always a lot of potential college players to watch and I have kind of adopted the Lions as my 4A team to watch. I live in Rockwall so I can only catch a couple of games per year, but surely will catch the game in Garland on September 10th. Good luck next year.

Last Saturday my husband, our grandson and I had the opportunity to see Graham and Jarvis play in the OIL BOWL. What a great game to watch! On Texas' first possession Graham connected with Jarvis for an awesome touchdown. It was fun to watch the fans around us as their jaws dropped. Some of them said, "Bet you've seen a lot of that!" We simply said, "All the time!" Graham was selected offensive MVP. We couldn't have been more proud of our guys. They represented our city well. We were surprised that so many fans out there have been keeping up with Graham and our team. We look forward to seeing Graham in the AllStars game in Houston in July.

And the accolades just keep coming! Last night on the sports edition of the news I saw that Graham was voted the SONIC MALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR! Another well-deserved honor. The interview with Graham and the clips from Ennis games were both great, but not nearly as great as Graham's giving credit to others as he always has. Graham made it known that his teammates, coaches and our town itself are all the best reasons for playing football in Ennis. i have one comment to make to the HP people who talk trash on this site. first of all, the dallas morning news said that your QB stafford or whatever his name is, is only a sophomore so how could tech be thinking of pulling out of the graham scholarship? plus, your QB has no stats compared to Graham Harrell. HP has a good program, always has and always probably will,,,,,but when is the last time HP won a state title?????? Also concerning HP I heard an unconfirmed report that Texas Tech is considering pulling out their scholorship offer for Graham Harrell, so they can conentrate solely on Stafford, who "ot only has a better arm but also has a better pocket presence"(quote from the Lubbock newspaper on Thursday.

Concerning the post by ennispride. Stephen's "hard working daddy" is not as hard working as it first may seem because at the age of 30 he struck the "gold mine" in the technological field and retired at the age of 40..He has more money than all of Ennis combined. Ennis is a small, warm, wonderful hometown that is like a close-knit family. Yes, guests' personal attacks on the team, the town, and on the Harrells have spurred a lot of regrettable defensive comments from our hometown family, but no guest would be allowed to disparage my family in MY home. This is for Stephen from Dallas....I was at the DR/HP game last Saturday. It was a good game. DR just flat outplayed and outclassed HP to say the least. Had we played HALF the game DR played we would have walked all over HP. This is not meant as a putdown to our great and classy football team, just fact. Also our "ethics" are much better than HP's. This was proven at the game. It still amazes me how so many DR fans knew and asked us about the tactics HP used at that game. Glad to see that Denton Ryan put the "Lights Out" on the Scots. I would have been inclined to support the Scots, but after the trash talk after our game a few weeks ago, I am more than glad to see Ryan in the finals. I am not taking anything away from Matthew Stafford, but before he can even be remotely compared to Graham Harrell, he will need to pad a few stats.
